Alright, I admit it, I am back to posting those 19th-century white dresses again. Here are my best excuses. It did not feel like Fall here today, the temperature rose to 93. And these portraits are not painted outside on glowing green grass. Those are my excuses, and I am sticking to them.

When I think of Arthur B. Davies (1862-1928), I imagine dancing nudes in mythical landscapes. And I also wonder how he pulled off having two separate wives & families which were unknown to each other until after his death. These paintings, sans nudes, give us a hazy a glimpse into the late 19th century. I am especially intrigured by the harnassed little boy.
