The Decorative Gardens of American Frederick Carl Frieseke (1874-1939)

After weeks of very hot weather, a cooling rain is falling here this morning. The grandchildren are gathering school supplies & getting ready to return to the classroom. I can feel a hint of fall in the air; so perhaps I should post these gardens for you, before autumn sets in.

Frederick Carl Frieseke (1874–1939) was an American Impressionist decorative painter. He was born in Owosso, Michigan & studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago & the Académie Julian in Paris. Frieseke & his family resided for 14 years in Giverny, home to Monet. Frieseke was attracted to women, gardens, & bright sunlight.
